Fire Detection Tube
Fire Detection Tube for Fire Suppression Systems
Engineered for dependable fire detection and system actuation, the AutoFireX® Fire Detection Tube is a high-performance linear pneumatic heat detector for Pneumatic Kitchen, DLP (Direct Low Pressure), ILP (Indirect Low Pressure), DHP (Direct High Pressure) or IHP (Indirect High Pressure) Fire Suppression Systems.
As a non-electrical detection technology, it is ideal for harsh, hazardous, or electrically sensitive environments where conventional detection methods may not be suitable.

Reliable Linear Pneumatic Heat Detection for Automatic Fire Suppression
Designed to respond to both radiant heat and direct flame impingement, the pressurised Fire Detection Tube ruptures at a precise temperature anywhere along its length. This instantly releases internal pressure, triggering the connected valve to discharge the suppression agent and activate any pressure-operated signalling devices.
Featuring a specially formulated polymer, this tubing is designed for harsh, reactive environments, offers high chemical resistance to common industrial substances, and resists surface degradation when installed on galvanised equipment. Non-destructively pressure-tested up to 140 Bar, it maintains a low permeation rate of pressurising gas for long-term reliability and can be UV-protected (Blue) for extended service life.
Compatible with inert, low-pressure, and high-pressure suppression agents, it has low moisture and water absorption characteristics and functions as both a linear heat detector and a system actuation device.

Specifications & Approvals for Our Fire Detection Tubing
Manufactured under an ISO 9001:2015-certified quality management system, our Fire Detection Tube is a UL Recognised Component (UL 521 – Heat Automatic Fire Detectors, Tubing). Featuring a proprietary modified polymer formulation, it meets high industry standards, including BS ISO 7628:2010, CE and UL.
With a 1.095kg/m³ density, 6mm Outer Diameter, and 4mm Inner Diameter, this tubing is typically red in colour. It features ratings of 138°C or 172°C at 15 Bar, with detection temperatures of approximately 110-138°C and 165-172°C respectively*. *Detection time varies with internal pressure, flame intensity, and rate of rise conditions.
Its moisture absorption (23°C, 50% Relative Humidity – RH) is 1.1%, whilst its water absorption (23°C immersion) is 2.5%. Thermal properties include a thermal decomposition point of 215°C and a heat deflection temperature of 50°C. Electrical properties are as follows: Dielectric Strength (DIN 53481, dry) of 40kV/mm, volume resistivity of (10¹³) Ω m, and surface resistivity of (10¹²)Ω.
